Katy Perry Reveals The 1 Item She Brought Into Space To Honor Her Daughter

Katy Perry left earth for just a few minutes, but she brought a piece of her daughter with her.

The “E.T.” singer joined Blue Origin’s first all-female crew on Monday, jetting into space alongside a team including journalist Gayle King and Jeff Bezos’ fiancée, Lauren Sanchez.

While Perry’s four-year-old daughter, Daisy, looked on from the ground in Texas, the singer brought a daisy flower with her into the rocket.

The 40-year-old was pictured raising the flower into the air when she emerged from the rocket after returning to earth.

Perry told reporters after her trip just why it was so important to her to bring the flower with her.

“Daises are common flowers, but they grow through any condition,” the singer said. “They grow through cement, they grow through cracks, they grow through walls. They are resilient. They are powerful, they are strong ― they are everywhere.”

“Flowers are, to me, God’s smile,” Perry added. “But it’s also a reminder of our beautiful Earth and the flowers here, and God’s smile, and the beautiful magic that is everywhere, all around us ― even in a simple daisy. So really appreciate it, remember it, take care of it and protect it.”

Perry shares Daisy with her fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom.

The two welcomed their daughter, whose full name is Daisy Dove Bloom, in August 2020.

“We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter,” the couple said in a joint statement with UNICEF at the time.

Bloom also shares a son, 14-year-old Flynn, with his ex-wife, model Miranda Kerr.
